Trish and Alex are the sweetest couple. They are gentle and kind and thoughtful. We shot their gorgeous downtown Charlottesville engagement shoot on one of the hottest, most humid evenings this summer and these two were the BEST sports about it. I knew we were going to especially enjoy working with Trish + Alex when they suggested we grab a cocktail while they changed outfits- to cool off and beat the heat. Um, yes. They took us to one of their go-to spots, a neat little bar on the Downtown Mall and we chatted about the wedding, summer plans, and life on those barstools. It’s such a gift when conversation comes easily and that was the case here.
When we walked back out into the beautiful evening light, we knew these two better and I think we all four were a bit more relaxed and ready for part 2- as if it could get any better. This town is where Trish and Alex fell in love and it was fun seeing what spots meant something to them. The restaurant where they had their first date, the routes they’ve taken time and time again, the spots they have made their own. It was fitting to capture their love in their town. We wandered around the Downtown Mall chasing the light and it paid off. These portraits are stunning- some of our favorites.
