Afton Mountain Vineyards | Charlottesville, Virginia | Trish + Alex

A little over a week ago, Alex and Trish became husband and wife on a quiet, overcast day at Afton Mountain Vineyards. When Alex and Trish invited us to capture this season, we were honored. These two have a special, calm, confident love and we knew their day would be special (and we have a soft spot in our hearts for late September weddings). The forecast was calling for rain, but this couple wasn’t worried. Instead, they decided to embrace it! The rain slowed for their first look (on the front porch of their new home) and then stopped all together just in time for us to capture some of the most gorgeous portraits in the vineyard. The rain shower left wisps of fog on the mountains to make the moment feel even more romantic and intimate.

These were familiar words to us- words we chose to be read during our own wedding ceremony almost exactly one year before Trish + Alex’s. Aaron and I stole a look at each other with the first lines of the poem. As if the day could be any more special. Trish was radiant all day, completely wrapped up in this perfect day marrying the man of her dreams. Alex was beaming with the knowledge that this woman was finally his bride. 

Trish and Alex, we loved getting to know you guys over the past few months. Your day was a beautiful testimony to your love for each other and the love you have for your family and friends. Thank you so very much for including us in the celebrating! We hope you are having the time of your lives in Italy and we hope you enjoy a few of our favorites from your beautiful day!
