The last time we met the Hutchinson family at Monticello Trail, it was spring-time and Maeve was much smaller. These three are the sweetest family and we were honored when they asked us to capture their family again this fall.
I work with little people all day, everyday, so it’s not hard to speak their language. We talk about Halloween costumes (a firetruck for this little girl); we go for races so mom and dad can have a minute alone in front of the camera; we search for leaves in ALL the colors… It really is team work getting portraits of littles but it teaches us to slow down. It teaches us to value the little moments. The hugs, the kisses, the songs, the snuggles. And always, the big high-five and (giant) pumpkin cookie at the end of a successful shoot. We like to think of those as “rewards”, not “bribes”. Rewards for a job well done.
The light was perfect, our friends were ready for some quality family time together, and we couldn’t be happier with the way these portraits turned out. Natural. Real life. Just the way we like them. Nick, Kate, and Maeve (and Cayman), thank you for spending the evening with us and letting us capture this season. You guys are so much fun and your images really are beautiful. We hope you love them as much as we do! Enjoy a few of our favorites!!
cheers!
