Inn at Willow Grove: Orange, Virginia | Lauren + Derek

Oh my goodness, gracious! Our 2015 wedding season is finished! I don’t think we knew what to expect when we looked at our calendar and saw fourteen wedding days. But we were uniquely blessed fourteen times but fourteen couples from May to December. It was amazing.

When we first met Lauren and Derek for coffee, I asked about their proposal story. You know, the typical, “so Derek, how did you propose?” And I was shocked when L + D gave each other a little smile and answered “at Disney… two weeks ago.” The shocking thing about this is that we’d been planning our coffee date for weeks and these two already had a date and venue locked in. Let’s just say, they know what they like, they knew what they wanted, and we were honored to make the cut. So they started planning the day of their dreams and then Derek proposed at DISNEY to make the REST of Lauren’s dreams come true. Lauren is a real-life princess. She LOVES all things Disney and is the ultimate romantic. We have been inspired by these two since we first met them and their day was beyond perfect.

The Inn at Willow Grove is one of the most spectacular venues we’ve shot at. It has history and charm and class and character. How perfect is it, that the bridal suite opens up to the entire top balcony of the inn. Perfection. Not to mention that these two had a balmy spring-like day for their December wedding and Lauren chose the most impressive BLUSH wedding dress we could have ever imagined. We wandered over the grounds, chasing the light, as these two could not get enough of each other. They were the sweetest. The way that Derek looks at Lauren is the way every groom should look at his bride.

Lauren and Derek, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for inviting us into your lives. Thank you for choosing us to capture this day for you. We loved witnessing your vows and we loved celebrating with you. We hope you’re having the BEST honeymoon ever! But then again, how could you not, in the happiest place on earth 🙂 We love you guys!
