First things first, WELCOME to our brand new space! Aaron has been working tirelessly for the past two weeks on creating a fresh (much, much prettier) website and blog for our business and it was done just in time for today’s post! Take a minute (AFTER checking out this beautiful wedding) to peruse the site and let us know what you think! (We apologize in advance for any glitches but would be SO grateful if you’d let us know if you stumble upon one.)
Chris and Kelli’s Mount Ida Farm wedding was only the third wedding to ever be held in Mount Ida’s new space “The Lodge” and it is the FIRST on our new and improved blog 🙂 C + K planned a day that screamed ‘Chris and Kelli’ and didn’t worry about playing by any certain set of rules! From the watercolor invitations hand painted by the bride to the sweetest first look on the one-lane bridge to the poem read about How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog (by Taylor Mali) to the groom playing keyboard at his own reception- this day felt like the couple through and through.
We’re in the season now where we are keeping a continual eye on the weather (especially since this spring has been way rainier than last spring) and the weather said it was supposed to be good. But the sky didn’t seem to care what the weather man said because it opened up and poured on us the entire way to the venue. I kept saying over and over again, “it’s not supposed to be raining right now!” But right as we walked into the bridal suite the clouds parted and the sun did not stop shining until it set that evening. It was the picture-perfect wedding day. Chris and Kelli chose not to have a bridal party so we got to spend even more time focused on capturing the sweet moments right before and right after “I do” with just the two of them. Mount Ida has some gorgeous fields and stunning views of the mountains, so we walked and talked and laughed and took in the view- trying with all our might to slow the day down. To take it all in in slow motion.
Chris + Kelli, you guys are so cool and your day was beautiful and we loved celebrating with you. We can’t wait to see what new adventures married life brings your way! (and we can’t wait to make it to a Congress show!) Thank you for allowing us to capture these memories for you. Enjoy some of our very favorites from the day!
cheers!
