We first met the Pommer family about 5 years ago when we photographed Eric’s (the groom) sister’s wedding in Connecticut. We met the Pommer family and we met Eric’s girlfriend- there’s even a photo floating around of them on the dance floor. So when Eric proposed, we were honored to be asked to capture the their wedding this summer! Most of our inquires are word-of-mouth (that’s how we like it!!), but true affirmation comes when we get asked to photograph a family member (or even a member of the bridal party). They’ve seen us in action, they’ve seen themselves through our lenses, and they liked what they saw enough to reach out for themselves.

Kat’s parents and grandparents were married at St. Anthony’s Maronite Church so it was a given that Kat and Eric would do the same. We were so moved by the rich tradition of the ceremony- some even spoken in Arabic. Part of the gift of this job is that we get to see what marriage means to so many different cultures, denominations, families, and couples. We get to see the beginning of marriages rooted in families and traditions that began long, long before. We always try to photograph the parents and grandparents of our couples because it’s not lost on us that this day wouldn’t be possible without them.

Wishing Kat and Eric the sweetest beginnings!
