Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia: Kelsey + Ryan’s Engagement Session

By the end of Kelsey and Ryan’s Blue Ridge Parkway engagement session, we felt like old friends. So much so that we called an audible and went out to dinner at Devil’s Backbone (one of our FAVORITES) so the party didn’t have to end!

Once upon a time, we met each of our couples face-to-face for coffee (or another special treat) before they booked us. Those days feel like they’re over and we’ve now entered the Skype dates and email-threads-for-days season. And it’s new and sometimes it’s a little scary. We’d only met Kelsey and Ryan over Skype, so when they showed up for their engagement session we were hugging hello for the first time ever! Reason #23475 why we include an engagement session in all of our packages! We’d rather be hugging hello for the first time at the e-session than the bridal suite on the wedding day!

We could tell how much we liked these two from the beginning when they trusted us enough to plan their engagement session in “our” territory. The stunning Blue Ridge Parkway. The colors were still bright on the trees and the temperatures spoiled us all afternoon. K + R met in high school and their love story is one of comfort and ease and it has stood the test of time. It didn’t take much coaching from us to get these two snuggling and laughing. Probably because they’ve been doing it for EIGHT years now!

Kelsey and Ryan, you guys are the best! We absolutely loved our time with you two and we are counting down the days ’til your Early Mountain Vineyard wedding this spring! It’s going to be beautiful and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Enjoy a few of our favorites from your session!

cheers!
