Kalmbacher Family | Windsor Castle Park Family Session | Aaron Mallory Photography

(In Bethany’s words)
Once upon a time I had a blog. Once upon a time I had a lot to say and the time to sit still long enough to say it. Sometimes it feels like those days are gone with the busyness of this life we’re leading so it’s REALLY fun to be able to write on here. (Spoiler alert: It’s usually me ghost writing as Aaron… maybe now that the cat is out of the bag I can just start writing as me instead??)

A little over two years ago when Aaron and I were dating, Aaron had talent and we had a dream that he could turn that talent into a way of life for himself- little did we know it would become a huge part of our dating relationship and now marriage! Aaron and I were excited about the idea of starting this business but starting anything from scratch can be scary and asking people to take a risk on you is even scarier. When my sweet friend Caroline got engaged to her now husband Kirk and asked if Aaron would take some engagement photos for them we were floored (see a few of them HERE). How could someone trust us with capturing such an important season? Looking back, we consider their shoot our first and the jumping off point for the rest of this crazy adventure now known as Aaron Mallory Photography.
Caroline and I lived together for two years at James Madison University in our affectionately named MANhouse. C has always been one of my greatest encouragements and that hasn’t changed with them living across the country in ALASKA! That’s right my friends, Caroline and Kirk live in Alaska with their one-year-old son Kebar (named for the village in Indonesia where Kirk’s family live and work as missionaries). We were bummed when the distance kept them from celebrating our wedding with us, so we jumped at the chance to hang out with them when they came to town for Thanksgiving. We drove to Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA for what we decided must be “bring your photographer to the park” day. We trekked through the park (it’s beautiful by the way) and caught up on life with our friends. It was so special to watch this little family interact and love each other- and SO crazy that my friends are having babies now!!
We like to think we’ve grown quite a bit since Aaron took those engagement photos two years ago! Check out a few of our favorites and join us in getting into the Christmas season with this festive session!!
cheers!

They wanted to recreate this pose from their engagement session- we LOVED it!
Seriously, Caroline, you’re BEAUTIFUL!
A few “roomie” pictures since we don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like to.
